Fall 2026 Soul Quest

Monday, September 7 - Saturday, September 12, 2026

Location: Coyote, New Mexico ~ the ancestral homelands of the Jicarilla Apache, Navajo (Diné), Southern Ute, Comanche, and Tewa Pueblo Peoples, as well as the lands of the Genízaro

** WHAT IS A VISION FAST? **

An informal talk on Monday, June 8, 5:30-6:30pm PT (on Zoom)

Join me for an informal discussion on the pan-cultural wilderness-based fasting rite, commonly known as the Vision Quest. We'll talk about why people fast, the elements of the ceremony, and how it can support a person's full maturation process toward becoming a true elder.

If you’ve ever been curious to learn more about this ceremony, you are warmly invited. You can sign up here.

There are moments in life when stepping back from the busy pace is what our souls need most.

Despite having everything, somehow, we still feel empty inside.

We might find ourselves feeling off course, lacking clarity on which direction to head next.

We may find ourselves in a holding pattern of sorts, living life one day to the next, but not really feeling the aliveness we used to feel.

Perhaps life has ushered us to this very moment, a moment where we are being called to mark something, let go of something, or claim something essential and deeply meaningful.

To support this process, for six days and five nights in September, we will gather amongst the red rock layers, broad mesas, rugged canyons, and winding arroyos of Coyote, New Mexico - the ancestral homelands of the Jicarilla Apache, Navajo (Diné), Southern Ute, Comanche, and Tewa Pueblo Peoples, as well as the lands of the Genízaro.

We will share space with Piñon pine, Juniper, Sage, Elk, Hawk, Snake, and the many others that call this place home.

The Fall Soul Quest is for those who are ready to step out of the hectic pace of life, slow down, lean in, and listen deeply for what is arising from the depths: both the depths of your own soul, as well as the depths of the land itself.

Throughout the program, we will engage in practices such as wild conversations, soulcentric dreamwork, deep imagery journeys, praise walks, self-designed ceremony, muse art, council practice, and more.

The program also includes the opportunity to enact a 24-hour vision fast ceremony. This is a sacred time to mark and/or honor something of deep importance in your life: an ending or a beginning; a shift in role or identity; a re-commitment to something deeply meaningful; or a major threshold -crossing of some kind (from one stage of life to another, for example).

Only you know whether this ceremony is arriving at the right moment for you. If it is, I invite you to be in touch. You can start that process by filling out an initial application here. I will be in touch shortly.

With immense love and gratitude,

Gage

Being a Person

Be a person here. Stand by the river, invoke

the owls. Invoke winter, then spring.

Let any season that wants to come here make its own

call. After that sound goes away, wait.

A slow bubble rises through the earth

and begins to include sky, stars, all space,

even the outracing, expanding thought.

Come back and hear the little sound again.

Suddenly this dream that you are having matches

everyone’s dream, and the result is the world.

If a different call came there wouldn’t be any

world, or you, or the river, or the owls calling.

How you stand here is important. How you

listen for the next things to happen. How you breathe.
